Vision Screening
The Department of Health school health programs requires vision screening for students K through5, Gr7 and 9. If your child fails the screening a referral form will be sent home recommending your child be seen by an eye doctor. In-school screening is a preliminary test, it serves as a first step in identifying a possible vision problem. It does not replace a comprehensive exam which measures visual skills that are crucial to healthy vision.
80% of what your child learns during the first 12 years is obtained through vision. Healthy vision is integral to your child's school success.
If your child wears glasses , please make sure he/she brings them to school every day to promote his/her safety and learning.
